TAFE SA is South Australia’s largest vocational education and training (VET) provider, winner of the Large Training Provider of the Year for two years running and now the third largest TAFE provider in Australia. It is also a registered higher education provider and has had more than one million students’ study with it since being established in 1971. Reporting to the Director, Workforce Alignment this role is responsible for leading and directing the strategic planning, delivery and evaluation of critical human resource management programs, projects, and services across TAFE SA. Providing expert advice to senior leaders across the organisation, the role will coach and consult to people leaders in relation to sensitive risks and issues and a broad range of complex HR and IR matters. You will also lead and oversee a team of passionate and knowledgeable Human Resources Business Partners, Team Leaders and Employee Relations specialists, ensuring a customer centric approach to the wider business.
An experienced and polished communicator, you will be adept at engaging, negotiating and influencing the diverse external stakeholder portfolio including multiple unions and aligned SA public sector agencies such as the Crown Solicitors Office and Attorney General’s Department. You will possess a highly evolved and demonstrated capacity to apply original and creative strategic thinking to analyse complex problems and provide fit for purpose solutions, whilst positively engaging various working groups and stakeholders. Expert knowledge and use of HR management processes and systems, industrial instruments and industry benchmarks will be required from the successful person.
