Cancer Council SA is a leading not-for-profit organisation committed to reducing the impact of cancer on South Australians. As the state's primary cancer charity, the organisation works tirelessly to fund cancer research, provide support services, advocate for cancer prevention, and raise awareness of early detection and healthy living. Cancer Council SA is now looking for a strategic and dynamic Senior Manager, Marketing, Communications & Government Relations to help enhance their profile, reputation, and influence across multiple platforms. 

Reporting to the General Manager, Fundraising & Engagement, you will lead a team of six, fostering collaboration across departments to ensure the alignment of Cancer Council SA’s messaging, branding, and policy with its broader mission and strategic objectives.  You will be responsible for overseeing marketing and communications strategies to advance Cancer Council SA's goals and raise awareness of key initiatives. This includes leading integrated marketing campaigns, guiding media relations, and acting as a spokesperson for the organisation when required. You will create impactful content to drive public awareness, strengthen donor relationships, and influence stakeholders. Additionally, you will lead advocacy efforts, positioning Cancer Council SA as a key voice in policy discussions. Managing and mentoring a team, fostering collaboration across departments, and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders will also be essential.

You will have proven experience in marketing, communications, and government relations with a deep understanding of advocacy, as you will need to navigate and influence high-level discussions with government and industry leaders. Strategic and forward thinking, your exceptional communication skills and experience navigating complex stakeholder landscapes will help drive change. You will demonstrate strong leadership abilities and have experience fostering collaboration across multiple teams whilst managing, developing and motivating a team.
