Lead the way in driving safe, innovative, and sustainable practices in a forward-thinking organisation that values safety and compliance.

Keolis Downer (KD) is a leading private provider of multimodal public transport in Australia, working collaboratively with State Governments to develop transport solutions that are tailored for all passengers, regardless of their background. Following recent business changes, KD will take on the critical role of custodian of the local network over the next decade, with a focus on asset management and maintenance. In the shorter term, KD will continue to provide customer experience and security services for the next two years. Alongside their government partner, KD is dedicated to delivering safe and customer-focussed services through their ‘Zero Harm’ and ‘Think Like a Passenger’ operating philosophies. Their safety-first approach promotes a collaborative culture where employees are supported through training and career development.

Committed to creating long-term, sustainable transport solutions that improve accessibility, reduce congestion, and contribute to the development of Australia’s transport future, KD is now seeking a Principal Business Partner Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) to join their team in driving a zero-harm workplace culture.

Reporting to the Director People and Safety and leading a small team of Business Partners, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and leadership across all health, safety, and environmental functions along with overseeing the health and wellbeing of employees, contractors, and visitors on site. You will play a critical role in ensuring the successful integration of HSE standards into daily operations. In addition, you will collaborate closely with senior management, business partners, and HSE teams to foster a culture of compliance, safety, innovation, and continuous improvement in line with organisational goals and safety management systems.

Holding a diploma, degree, or certification in health and safety, risk management, or a related field, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to a safety-first mindset. With a strategic focus, you will have a proactive and hands on approach to safety management. A results-driven leader, you will bring a passion for cultivating a positive safety culture and ensuring the highest levels of compliance to help shape the future of health, safety, and environmental practices.
