A Manager, Development Assessment is now sought to join their Urban Planning and Environment department in a highly collaborative and inclusive culture. Reporting to the General Manager, Urban Planning and Environment, the Manager, Development Assessment oversees a team of consisting of Planners, Development Officers, Building, Compliance Officers, the City Arborist and Planning Assistants, with the primary function of assessing and determining development applications and facilitating sustainable development outcomes. You will be required to undertake the role of Assessment Manager on behalf of the Council, as an integral member of the council’s leadership team. In addition, you will assist in the delivery of robust and effective development assessment procedures, which will contribute to the achievement of high-quality urban design and built form outcomes for the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters and its citizens.
To be successful in this role, you will have experience leading an Urban Development Assessment function, with demonstrable experience in developing and reviewing appropriate systems and procedures for monitoring outputs and outcomes, ensuring compliance with Development Approvals, improving the public realm and handling heritage related matters.
