A leading Australian organisation with a strong national and international presence is seeking an accomplished communications professional to lead its Media and Communications function. The Director, Media and Communications will play a pivotal role in leading the design and execution of an integrated media and communications strategy that enhances reputation, builds engagement and ensures clear, consistent messaging across all channels. As a key member of the senior leadership team, this position works closely with the Chief Executive and senior stakeholders to provide high-level advice, manage media relations and reputation, and lead effective internal communication initiatives. Overseeing a capable and collaborative team of three direct reports and ten staff members, you will drive the development of compelling content, strengthen media relationships and ensure alignment between corporate objectives and communications activity, both nationally and internationally.
Success in this role requires a strategic and influential leader with extensive experience in media, communications and reputation management within large and complex organisations. You will demonstrate sound judgement, exceptional writing and influencing skills and proven success managing issues and crises. Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations or a related discipline are essential, along with senior leadership experience.
