Chief Executive

  • Purpose-Driven and High Impact Leadership Opportunity
  • Drive Growth, Innovation and Systems-Wide Change
  • A Key Strategic and Influential Role in the Not-For-Profit Sector

This is a unique opportunity to make a transformative impact both within the organisation and across the communities it serves.

Uniting Communities is a leading not-for-profit organisation committed to fostering resilient, inclusive and compassionate communities across South Australia. With over 120 years of service, spanning mental health, aged care, child family and youth  services, financial and legal assistance, disability support, advocacy and more, Uniting Communities supports more than 80,000 South Australians each year. At its heart, Uniting Communities is dedicated to social equity, accessibility and supporting people of all backgrounds to live their best lives.

Uniting Communities is seeking a purpose-driven Chief Executive (CE) to lead the organisation into its next chapter of growth and impact. This role calls for a dynamic, strategic leader who can balance a powerful external presence with an inward focus on organisational culture and performance. The CE will champion Uniting Communities’ vision across the broader human services sector, building and nurturing relationships with stakeholders, government, and community partners to advance advocacy efforts and shape social policy. Internally, this leader will work to ensure operational excellence, maximise financial health and efficiency, foster a positive workplace culture and drive high performance and ambitious new major developments, ensuring that Uniting Communities remains an innovative, effective organisation poised to meet South Australia’s evolving needs.

You will be an experienced and progressive CE with a background in sectors such as health, social justice, human services, aged care, disability, or community services. Tertiary qualified, your proven track record of leading similarly sized, complex organisations with a focus on service delivery, sustainable growth and innovation is essential. You will need to demonstrate success in building cohesive and high-performing executive teams and possess in-depth knowledge of policy and legislative frameworks relevant to social and human services. Both a visionary and a strategist, you will thrive in the role of a bold external advocate and compassionate internal leader to elevate the organisation, drive growth and significant new property developments and inspire a shared commitment to innovation, excellence and impact.

This is a unique opportunity for a CE who can balance a passion for social justice with commercial acumen and eager to make a transformative impact both within the organisation and across the communities it serves.
