Schools Ministry Group (SMG), a not-for-profit organisation with more than 250 staff, is committed to providing pastoral and practical support to school communities through Chaplaincy, Wellbeing and Education Services. With a holistic approach to nurturing the wellbeing of others, they exist primarily to support young people and school communities to discover purpose, value and hope. An approved Chaplaincy Service provider of the South Australian Department for Education through the National Student Wellbeing Program (NSWP), SMG is now seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to join their highly regarded faith-based organisation.
As the CEO, reporting directly to the Board, you will be the strategic leader responsible for defining and driving the organisation’s overarching vision and mission. You will lead a high-performing senior team to ensure the seamless delivery of services across South Australia, while achieving both short-term operational excellence and long-term strategic goals. Your leadership will extend to overseeing financial management, risk compliance, and the continuous advancement of the organisation's growth strategy. You will cultivate a culture of empowerment, engagement, and accountability, ensuring the organisation remains a leading force in the community and youth services sector. As the face of the organisation, you will represent SMG at a government level, spearhead key fundraising initiatives and develop innovative, sustainable funding models to ensure the long-term financial viability and scalability of the organisation. You will also maintain and strengthen critical relationships with the Board and key stakeholders including churches, government entities, community organisations, and donors, positioning SMG as a trusted, influential leader in the sector. Your ability to engage and collaborate with these diverse partners will be central to driving the continued success of SMG.
An experienced and visionary leader with a deep commitment to a faith-based ethos, you will bring strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking and an ability to navigate complex challenges. You will have experience working with Boards, and a proven track record of achieving significant outcomes through effective stakeholder management. A passion for serving the community while promoting the organisation’s values and mission is fundamental to this role.
